FTI Settles Syntax-Brillian Shareholder Fraud Claims

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 6:36 PM EDT) -- FTI Consulting Inc. on Thursday settled a lawsuit in New York that claimed the consulting company misled shareholders about the impending liquidation of Syntax-Brillian Corp. after it took the reins of the struggling television maker.

A federal judge approved the settlement and closed the case over alleged misrepresentations FTI and Syntax-Brillian management made assuring shareholders that the company remained a viable business that could be restructured and spared outright liquidation.
