Becton Syringe Doesn't Infringe MBO's Patent: Judge

Law360, New York (May 9, 2011, 9:01 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal judge ruled Friday that Becton Dickinson & Co.'s syringe does not infringe MBO Laboratories Inc.'s patent for a design intended to protect health care workers from needle-stick injuries, ending a long-running dispute.

MBO first accused Becton Dickinson of infringing seven claims of its patent for syringe safety features in 2003, and the case has even reached the Federal Circuit more than once.
