Anti-Indemnity Law Bars $21M Sonat Claim, Court Rules

Law360, New York (May 9, 2011, 7:09 PM EDT) -- A Texas state appeals court ruled Monday that Sonat Exploration Co.'s $20.7 million indemnity claim against Cudd Pressure Control Inc. under a master settlement agreement is barred by Louisiana law, since Sonat has admitted it was partially at fault in a 1998 explosion.
