Inventor Seeks High Court Review Of Sheppard Mullin Suit

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 2:10 PM EDT) -- An inventor asked the U.S. Supreme Court in late April to review the dismissal of his suit accusing Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP of conducting fraudulent patent re-examination requests.

Inventor Lawrence Lockwood and his patent-holding company PanIP LLC argued in a petition filed April 28 that the high court should review the case in order to resolve a split among circuit courts on the limits of federal preemption of state laws related to misconduct before federal agencies.
