Ecuadoreans Urge 2nd Circ. To Lift Chevron Injunction

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 7:31 PM EDT) -- A lawyer for Ecuadorean plaintiffs embroiled in a long-standing pollution battle with Chevron Corp. told the Second Circuit on Tuesday that his clients would run out of resources if part of an injunction blocking an $8.6 billion judgment was not lifted.

James E. Tyrrell Jr. of Patton Boggs LLP argued in the federal appeals court that the injunction, as it stands, would not allow the plaintiffs access to "legal advice and funding" in their efforts to defeat the ruling on the merits. Chevron sought the injunction...
