Green Groups Sue Texas Over $3B Power Plant Approval

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 4:26 PM EDT) -- The Sierra Club and Clean Economy Coalition filed a lawsuit Monday in Texas challenging the approval of a $3 billion coal-fired power plant in Corpus Christi, claiming the state incorrectly evaluated possible air pollution from the facility.

The state's approval of the proposed 1,300-megawatt Las Brisas Energy Center violates federal clean air regulations, the  groups said in a petition filed in Texas state court.
