US Withdraws Objections To Military Site Settlement

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 5:49 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government has agreed to withdraw objections to the proposed settlement of a suit over pollution cleanup at a former military manufacturing plant in New Jersey, in exchange for concessions from state regulators and the property’s current owners, a federal judge said Tuesday.

According to an order filed by U.S. District Judge Anne Thompson, the government will pull back its opposition to a motion for settlement and entry of a consent decree in return for modifications to the consent decree by the New Jersey Department...
