Acer Wants Manufacturers' Help In HP Patent Case

Law360, New York (May 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Taiwanese computer company Acer Inc. asked a United States court on Tuesday to order three of its contract manufacturers to defend it against two patent infringement lawsuits filed by Hewlett-Packard Co.

The request, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, asked Taiwan-based companies Quanta Computer Inc., Hon Hai Precision Industry and Wistron Corp. to “fulfill their obligations” by helping Acer in its patent battle with HP.
