Skadden Reps Argos In $760M Lafarge Cement Deal

Law360, New York (May 12, 2011, 5:54 PM EDT) -- Colombian cement company Cementos Argos SA and Miami-based subsidiary Argos USA announced Thursday that they would acquire the Southeastern U.S. cement and ready-mix assets of French building materials giant Lafarge SA for $760 million in cash.

The assets include cement plants in Alabama and South Carolina, as well as a cement grinding station in Atlanta; 79 ready-mix plants in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida; 347 ready-mix trucks; five rail terminals in Georgia, Mississippi and North Carolina; and a Mobile, Ala., terminal equipped with port facilities,...
