Obama Seeks To Simplify Export Control Reforms

Law360, New York (May 12, 2011, 7:10 PM EDT) -- Obama administration officials on Thursday highlighted their efforts toward simplifying and consolidating the U.S. export control system, while acknowledging that much work remains to be done.

In testimony before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, the officials said Phase 1 of their reform efforts were complete, including developing the methodology for rebuilding control lists, implementing new proposed licensing policies and finalizing changes to encryption controls.
