5th Circ. Revives Houston Police Retaliation Claim

Law360, San Francisco (May 13, 2011, 2:50 PM EDT) -- The Fifth Circuit on Thursday resuscitated a claim by a Hispanic police officer who said Houston retaliated against him after his father filed a lawsuit complaining about racial discrimination.

Plaintiff Christopher Zamora's father, Manuel Zamora, claimed members of the Houston Police Department's so-called “Chicano Squad” received low pay and were subjected to poor working conditions, and were punished when they complained of the discrimination.
