Southwest, AirTran Rip 9th Circ. Appeal Of $1.4B Merger

Law360, New York (May 13, 2011, 2:35 PM EDT) -- Southwest Airlines Co. and AirTran Holdings Inc. on Thursday blasted a Ninth Circuit appeal by direct purchasers trying to block the carriers' recently completed $1.4 billion merger over competition fears, saying the renewed bid for a restraining order was improper and should be dismissed.
