Judge Won't Delay Insider Trading Trial Over Raj Link

Law360, New York (May 13, 2011, 10:12 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge nixed a bid Friday to postpone an insider trading case involving a former Galleon Group LLC trader's brother, who argued that publicity surrounding the Raj Rajaratnam conviction would threaten his right to a fair trial.

U.S. District Judge Richard J. Sullivan struck down the request from Emanuel Goffer, who is on trial with his brother, former Galleon trader Zvi Goffer, and a third defendant, Michael Kimelman, saying that any prejudice stemming from the Rajaratnam trial can be addressed during jury selection....
