Jury Deliberations Start Over In Tax Shelter Case

Law360, New York (May 16, 2011, 3:26 PM EDT) -- Jury deliberations began anew Monday in the New York trial of two former Jenkens & Gilchrist PC attorneys and three others accused of selling illegal tax shelters to the wealthy, following the dismissal of a juror for health reasons.

Judge William H. Pauley said the juror, No. 11, wanted to “finish what he set out to do” in Manhattan federal court but that the medical issues were too pressing. An alternate was called upon to serve as a substitute, and the jurors were ordered to start...
