Ala. Koch Workers Win Class Cert. In Don, Doff Suit

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 6:21 PM EDT) -- An Alabama federal judge Monday conditionally certified a class of chicken processing plant workers alleging Koch Foods Inc. refused to pay for work done off the clock or provide employees with adequate meal breaks.

Coming on the heels of February’s successful bid for class status on behalf of Ohio workers fighting similar claims against Koch, U.S. District Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins granted the unopposed motion brought by production line employees who worked at Koch’s Gadsden, Ala., facility since 2008.
