ITC Votes To Continue Probe Into Chinese Dye Imports

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 3:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission unanimously voted Monday that there is a reasonable indication certain ultraviolet light-absorbing dyes imported from China and Taiwan are hurting U.S. industry, paving the way for the continuation of an anti-dumping duty probe.

The ITC commissioners' vote will allow the U.S. Department of Commerce to continue its anti-dumping probe into imports of certain stilbenic optical brightening agents, which are allegedly being sold in the U.S. for less than fair value. The DOC's preliminary findings are due Sept. 7.
