Md. Mandates Holocaust Disclosures For SNCF

Law360, New York (May 19, 2011, 3:41 PM EDT) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley signed legislation Thursday, specifically aimed at French national railway SNCF, that will require companies seeking a state commuter rail contract to disclose their role in transporting victims to Nazi concentration camps during World War II.

SNCF was paid per head, per kilometer by the Nazis between 1942 and 1944 for the trains, cars and manpower necessary to transport roughly 76,000 Jews, prisoners of war and others to their deaths.
