Enviro Groups Sue To Stop Gas Drilling In Ozark Forest

Law360, New York (May 20, 2011, 2:39 PM EDT) -- Environmental groups sued the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Arkansas on Thursday to halt oil and gas drilling in the Ozark National Forest and near Greers Ferry Lake until environmental impacts are determined.

The Ouachita Watch League, Newton County Wildlife Association and northwest Arkansas residents accused the agencies of abandoning established procedures by allowing oil and gas companies to drill without first gathering public input and fully studying environmental impacts.
