Trimmed Bereskin Malpractice Suit Continues

Law360, Los Angeles (May 23, 2011, 10:32 PM EDT) -- A Virginia federal judge on Wednesday threw out a legal malpractice claim by Touchcom Inc. against Bereskin & Parr LLP for lack of standing to sue, but allowed TI's licensee Touchcom Technologies Inc.'s claims against the defendant to move forward.

While the decision knocked TI out of the litigation, it means technology development and licensing company TTI can continue to trial on a lawsuit alleging Bereskin & Parr committed malpractice in patent work it performed for the company. A final pretrial conference is set for August....
