Ex-Massey Security Head Pleads Not Guilty To Lying To FBI

Law360, New York (May 24, 2011, 7:18 PM EDT) -- Hughie E. Stover, Massey Energy Co.'s former security chief, pled not guilty Tuesday to lying to investigators and the FBI during their investigation of the deadly April 2010 Upper Big Branch Mine explosion in West Virginia.

Stover, 60, is charged with giving false statements to investigators studying the explosion that killed 29 miners and later to the FBI. He also is charged with concealing documents in a federal investigation and destruction of records.
