Maxum Denies Duty To Cover Trade Secrets Fight

Law360, New York (May 26, 2011, 3:35 PM EDT) -- Maxum Indemnity Co. sued two engineering firms Wednesday in Illinois, hoping to avoid paying defense costs in a suit alleging unfair competition, trade secrets theft by an ex-employee of one of the firms and breach of contract.

The suit targets Maxum's insured Cook Engineering Group as well as C.M. Lavoie & Associates Inc., which launched the underlying suit against Cook.
