Ex-La. Politician Pleads Not Guilty To RICO Charge

Law360, New York (May 27, 2011, 12:17 PM EDT) -- A former Louisiana state representative pled not guilty in federal court Wednesday to racketeering charges in connection with political operative Mose Jefferson's alleged misuse of federal and state grant money.

Renee Gill Pratt, a state representative and councilwoman from 1991 to 2006 and the girlfriend of Jefferson, a recently deceased New Orleans power broker convicted of bribery, pled not guilty at her criminal arraignment for allegedly funneling federal and state funds to Jefferson and other conspirators.
