GOP Moves To Bar Contractor Contribution Disclosures

Law360, New York (May 27, 2011, 4:14 PM EDT) -- A group of Republican lawmakers introduced legislation Thursday aimed at stopping the Obama administration from forcing companies seeking government contracts to disclose their political campaign contributions.

The legislation, known as the Keeping Politics Out of Federal Contracting Act of 2011, is a direct response to an executive order proposed in April, which would require federal agencies to collect information about campaign contributions and political expenditures of any business or individual bidding on a federal contract.
