Idaho Unions Fight New Contracting Labor Laws

Law360, New York (May 31, 2011, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Construction labor unions sued the Idaho attorney general Friday, challenging two relatively new state laws that bar unions from handing wage subsidies to contractors and subcontractors and block public agencies from requiring bidders to abide by a labor agreement.

The suit, filed in Idaho federal court, targets the Fairness in Contracting Act and the Open Access to Work Act, both of which were signed into law in March and take effect July 1.
