Judge Greenlights Bay City Rollers' Suit Against Arista

Law360, New York (June 1, 2011, 3:29 PM EDT) -- In a ruling unsealed last week, a New York judge ruled that the Bay City Rollers, a ‘70s Scottish pop band, can proceed with a four-year-old contract suit demanding millions of dollars in royalties from Arista Records LLC.

U.S. District Judge Loretta A. Preska ruled that because Arista had continued to acknowledge in writing that it had a debt to the Rollers, New York's six-year statute of limitations on contract disputes did not apply. The ruling was released in March, but unsealed on May 26....
