IPhone App Developers Face Suit Over Apple IP License

Law360, New York (June 1, 2011, 4:20 PM EDT) -- Seven developers of Apple Inc. iPhone applications were sued Tuesday by a Texas company that has licensed its patents to the computer giant, claiming the agreement did not give third-party developers free rein to use the patented technology.

Marshall, Texas-based Lodsys LLC accused the companies of developing iPhone apps that infringe on patents for ways to connect companies to the customers who use their products.
