Dish Network Blasts AT&T's $39B T-Mobile Buyout

Law360, New York (June 1, 2011, 5:37 PM EDT) -- Dish Network LLC on Tuesday urged the Federal Communications Commission to reject AT&T Inc.’s proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA Inc., claiming the tie-up will stifle competition across diverse markets and shut out newcomers.

While wireless providers have opposed the transaction, Dish has expanded on their outcries and warned that AT&T will be able to leverage its power in the wireless broadband market to also dominate the video market, hampering innovation and harming consumers in both segments.
