Ex-La. Official Cops To Kickback Conspiracy

Law360, New York (June 1, 2011, 7:22 PM EDT) -- A former Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission official pled guilty Wednesday to conspiring to accept $463,000 in kickbacks from local landfill owners to keep the Old Gentilly Landfill in New Orleans closed.

In a rearraignment hearing, former state Wildlife and Fisheries Commissioner Henry M. Mouton agreed to plead guilty to the federal government's conspiracy charge and to cooperate with a wider investigation into corruption in Jefferson Parish, La., according to Mouton's attorney Mary Olive Pierson.
