Advisors, Attorneys Get Paid In Marcal Case

Law360, New York (May 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The judge overseeing Marcal Paper Mills Inc.’s Chapter 11 proceedings has approved almost $3 million in fee requests submitted by law firms and other professionals retained to help steward the company through bankruptcy.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Morris Stern signed off on at least five orders granting compensation Tuesday, according to the case docket.

The largest fee application approved by Judge Stern on Tuesday didn’t come from attorneys, but from JH Cohn LLP, financial advisor to the debtors.
