Ex-Acorn CFO Tries To Escape Suit Over Petters Fraud

Law360, New York (June 3, 2011, 7:19 PM EDT) -- The former chief financial officer of Acorn Capital Group LLC on Friday tried to rebuff a putative shareholder class action in Connecticut implicating him in the multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme operated by Thomas J. Petters.

Robert Bucci is named along with Acorn and three other executives in a suit filed in June 2010 by investor Poptech LLC. Distinguishing himself from his co-defendants, Bucci claims he was a peripheral player and wholly innocent of the fraud.
