Blue Cross Underpaid Texas Claims By $11M: Suit

Law360, New York (June 6, 2011, 6:30 PM EDT) -- A health care provider accused Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Inc. of underpaying for out-of-network medical claims by at least $11.5 million in a lawsuit that was removed to Texas federal court on Monday.

Mid-Town Surgical Center LLP, a Houston-based ambulatory surgical center,  accused the insurer of routinely underpaying or denying claims submitted for same-day surgeries, in violation of Texas laws, according to the complaint, which was first filed in Harris County court.
