Howrey Wants Bankruptcy Case Converted To Ch. 11

Law360, New York (June 6, 2011, 8:20 PM EDT) -- Dissolved law firm Howrey LLP asked a California federal court on Monday to convert its involuntary Chapter 7 case into a voluntary Chapter 11.

"Howrey has concluded that Chapter 11 will give better order to the wind-down process, and provide the clearest and quickest path to satisfying all of the firm's creditors," Howrey's attorneys with Wiley Rein LLP said in a statement.

Howrey's attorneys said that requesting the conversion did not change its position that the case belongs in a Washington or Virginia district court....
