AXA Private Equity Unit Buys Up $1.7B Citi Portfolio

Law360, New York (June 8, 2011, 12:11 PM EDT) -- AXA SA’s private equity unit announced on Wednesday that it had purchased a $1.7 billion portfolio of assets from Citigroup Inc., one of the largest secondary market private equity transactions on record.

The Citi Holdings assets in the deal include 207 limited partnership interests in private equity buyout funds and a portfolio of direct stakes in companies, building on AXA’s global leadership in secondary funds of funds, AXA Private Equity said.
