Mass. Hospitals Beat Worker Wage-And-Hour Action

Law360, New York (June 8, 2011, 5:54 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Massachusetts on Wednesday ruled in favor of UMass Memorial Health Care Inc. and affiliated hospitals accused of wage-and-hour violations, closing the putative class action brought by workers.

U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV said in his order that the plaintiffs had failed to plead enough facts showing that the defendants — the hospitals and two executives — are the plaintiffs' employers.
