Hermes Settles Trademark Suit Over Tote Bag Image

Law360, New York (June 10, 2011, 3:37 PM EDT) -- Luxury fashion house Hermes International SCA on Thursday settled its trademark suit in New York against a company that sells a canvas tote bag bearing a color photograph of Hermes' iconic Birkin bag.

Hermes, which sells the Birkin bag for over $6,000, claimed in a suit filed in January that Thursday Friday Inc.'s $45 Together bag would confuse consumers into believing it was affiliated with Hermes.
