Semiconductor Co. Says Co-Inventor Undermined Patent

Law360, New York (June 10, 2011, 4:21 PM EDT) -- Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co. Ltd. accused inventor Yujiro Nagata in California on Wednesday of raising groundless questions over a patent's enforceability after SEL declined to compensate Nagata for his role as co-inventor.

SEL's complaint names Nagata, a Japanese national, as the sole defendant and includes three counts, for slander of title, quiet title and unjust enrichment.

SEL asks the court to bar Nagata from asserting, or helping to assert, allegations of inequitable conduct regarding U.S. Patent Number 6,900,463 and award damages, including punitive and exemplary damages....
