Davis Polk Reps Vector Capital In $282M Gerber Deal

Law360, New York (June 13, 2011, 3:58 PM EDT) -- Automated manufacturing systems maker Gerber Scientific Inc. said Monday it had struck a $281.8 million all-cash deal to sell to private equity firm Vector Capital Corp.

The sale follows Gerber's announcement in April that it would be adjusting its business focus by halting its flatbed printer manufacturing to focus on its more profitable thermal printing products.

Vector invests mainly in private and public technology companies — particularly those with high profit margins that bring in at least $30 million in revenue — and Gerber said Monday...
