White House Takes Scalpel To Agency Waste, Fraud

Law360, New York (June 13, 2011, 4:28 PM EDT) -- The White House on Monday announced the launch of a campaign aimed at slashing waste and fraudulent spending in each department in the federal government by expanding an oversight board created to track stimulus spending.

The initiative — implemented through an executive order signed by President Barack Obama — will be led by top officials at the White House's Office of Management and Budget, with Vice President Joe Biden directed to hold monthly meetings with cabinet members over ways to cut department waste.
