Paul Weiss Reps Ericsson In $1.15B Telcordia Deal

Law360, New York (June 14, 2011, 1:31 PM EDT) -- Swedish cellphone giant Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson on Tuesday purchased telecommunications software maker Telcordia Technologies Inc. for $1.15 billion from private equity firms Providence Equity Partners LLC and Warburg Pincus.

The all-cash deal will see Ericsson add to its mobile, broadband and enterprise communications software and services capabilities. Ericsson said that while it has established itself as a leader in building networks, adding the software Telcordia produces will make those networks more efficient for businesses and their customers.
