CFTC Delays Dodd-Frank Swap Regs Until December

Law360, Washington (June 14, 2011, 2:05 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission voted Tuesday to delay the effective date of a number of Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act provisions concerning swaps and related margin requirements from mid-July to the end of December.

The rules will now come into effect by Dec. 31, instead of the previous July 16 deadline. The provisions affected by the new CFTC order are those pertaining to swap dealers and participants and their associated margin requirements.
