Kayak.com Sued Over Price Quote Patent

Law360, Los Angeles (June 14, 2011, 8:18 PM EDT) -- Patent holder Source Search Technologies LLC sued Kayak.com Inc. in New Jersey federal court on Monday, alleging the popular travel website infringed SST's patent on a method for matching up buyers and vendors via the Internet.

The lawsuit — SST’s third involving U.S. Patent No. 5,758,328, titled “Computerized Quotation System And Method” — represents an aggressive effort by the company to go after online service providers it accuses of using its intellectual property without permission or remuneration.
