ConocoPhillips Unit Sues Trucking Co. Over PCB Cleanup

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 7:15 PM EDT) -- A ConocoPhillips Co. subsidiary sued Rogers Cartage Co. on Wednesday in Illinois in an effort to force the trucking company to clean up polychlorinated biphenyl contamination at the energy giant's property near St. Louis.

According to the suit, Illinois-based Rogers Cartage carelessly spilled PCBs on ConocoPhillips' property while washing off trucks it used to haul hazardous substances

"Rogers Cartage is responsible for this contamination because it failed to properly handle, transport or dispose of solid and hazardous wastes," the complaint said.
