EU Court Cuts Solvay, Edison Bleach Cartel Fines

Law360, New York (June 16, 2011, 2:22 PM EDT) -- A European Union court on Thursday tossed a €58 million ($82 million) fine against Edison SpA for its alleged role in a bleach cartel, and trimmed nearly €28 million from Solvay SA's €167 million fine.

However, the EU's General Court upheld millions of euros in fines against FMC Corp. and its French subsidiary, former Edison unit Solvay Solexis SpA, and Caffaro SRL.
