NY’s New Limited In-House Counsel Bar License Rule

Law360, New York (June 17, 2011, 5:21 PM EDT) -- New York recently adopted an in-house counsel license rule that allows in-house lawyers admitted in most other states to become admitted to practice in New York on a limited basis. The rule took effect on April 20, 2011, and requires in-house counsel in New York who are not otherwise admitted to the New York bar to register for the limited license within 90 days of the rule’s adoption — i.e., on or before July 19.
