Canon Appeals Flat Screen TV Licensing Order

Law360 (May 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Canon Inc. has appealed a district court decision that allowed patent holding company Nano-Proprietary Inc. to terminate a licensing agreement between the companies and to keep Canon’s original $5.5 million purchase price for licensing flat screen television technology.

Canon filed the appeal last week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit after it prevailed in a trial regarding fraud charges and additional damages sought by Texas-based Nano-Proprietary.
