Chinese Aluminum Cos. Challenge Parallel Duty Orders

Law360, New York (June 20, 2011, 4:35 PM EDT) -- A group of Chinese aluminum extrusion exporters filed lawsuits Sunday and Monday accusing the U.S. Department of Commerce of imposing steep anti-dumping and countervailing duties that amount to a double remedy after conducting parallel investigations in April.

The plaintiffs, including Guang Ya Aluminium Industries Co. Ltd. and Guang Cheng Aluminum Industries Inc., filed complaints with the U.S. Court of International Trade alleging that Commerce unlawfully imposed two sets of duties to compensate for the same practice of pricing their exports at less than fair value....
