Condo Group Wins $1.5M In Fees In Wilma Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 12:34 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday awarded nearly $1.5 million in attorneys' fees to a condominium association that has already won a $4.4 million jury verdict in its breach of contract suit against QBE Insurance Corp. for not covering damages following Hurricane Wilma in 2005.

The ruling of U.S. District Judge Federico A. Moreno, which also included $40,274 in costs for plaintiff Royal Bahamian Association Inc., was based on the May 18 recommendations of U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman.
