Cisco Hit With Suit Over Call Processing Patent

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 1:31 PM EDT) -- Teleconnect Solutions LLC sued Cisco Systems Inc. in Texas federal court on Monday, claiming that the networking technology giant’s software-based call processing systems infringe one of the plaintiff's patents.

Frisco, Texas-based Teleconnect alleges that Cisco has violated U.S. Patent Number 5,802,160, titled “Multiring telephone method and system,” by selling the call processing systems and related equipment.

The plaintiff says that it is the exclusive licensee of the '160 patent, and that it has the right to sue and collect damages for past, present and future infringement...
