PNC Makes Way Out Of Financial Marketing IP Fight

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 3:36 PM EDT) -- PNC Financial Services Group Inc. on Tuesday became the latest defendant to settle infringement claims in Texas over two widely asserted patents related to marketing systems for financial products.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward dismissed the allegations against PNC and its affiliates, signing off on the stipulation submitted by patent-holding company Phoenix Licensing LLC and the patents' exclusive licensee LPL Licensing LLC.

PNC was among the dozens of insurers and financial companies accused of infringing two patents covering technology for marketing financial products.
