Helmet Maker Didn't Kill Motorcyclist: 5th Circ.

Law360, New York (June 21, 2011, 6:04 PM EDT) -- The Fifth Circuit on Monday affirmed a win for motorcycle helmet maker Soaring Helmet Corp. in a lawsuit that accused the company of contributing to a wearer's death with allegedly poor helmet design.

The district court had the right to stop the plaintiff, the estate of Ricardo Navarro, from comparing the design of Soaring Helmet's Vega Summit XPV with dozens of other helmets that were purportedly better, ruled a three-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit.
